I have worked with children almost all of my life. I love their perspective on the world and being part of their learning process. I have the desire to help children learn HOW to think, not just WHAT to think. I began working with ILI (then The Discovery Center) in 1997 after seeing how it mirrored my philosophy of learning.
Each child that I work with is unique. I love studying how each of them learns and designing programs to strengthen them as learners. Stimulating each child’s learning is what drives me as a NILD Educational Therapist. I continue to look for ways to further my understanding of how my students learn. Being trained through NILD and Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment has expanded my understanding of how children learn and given me ways to help them develop into independent thinkers and learners.
I spent 12+ years homeschooling my own children and served as a co-op instructor and president of our local home school association. I am uniquely qualified to offer valuable instruction and encouragement to parents who have opted to school their struggling learners at home. I have over twenty years of experience directing and teaching children’s clubs such as AWANA, Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday school, and summer camp programs. I am currently the AWANA Commander at a church in Palm Desert.
In my free time I teach a weekly Bible study for women at a local retirement community and also serve as an instructor monitoring correspondence Bible study courses for prisoners from all across the country.
